摘要
本研究以中美两国有关"朝核问题"例行记者会的录音转写材料为语料,以Beebeet al.(1990)的"拒绝"言语行为的语义分类为基础,运用会话分析和语用学理论,对例行记者会上中美新闻发言人对记者提问所采用的"拒绝"言语行为及其具体策略进行对比分析,并从文化和话语特征角度对中美新闻发言人拒绝策略的使用差异作了较为深入的阐释。研究发现中美新闻发言人在拒绝记者提问时都以间接拒绝为主,但在具体策略的选用上存在较大差异。此外,美方在直接拒绝以及拒绝策略种类的使用上远多于中方。
Taking the transcripts of Chinese and American regular press conferences concerning the North Korean nuclear issue as its data and with Beebe et al.'s(1990) semantic classification of the speech act of refusal as its analytical basis,and with the theories of conversational analysis and pragmatics as its theoretical framework,this paper makes a contrastive analysis of the refusal strategies employed by Chinese and American spokespersons from a cultural and discourse perspective and presents an in-depth explanation of the differences between Chinese and American spokespersons in employing refusal strategies.It has been found that both Chinese and American spokespersons mostly used indirect refusals in refusing to answer reporters' questions but they differ greatly in the employment of specific refusal strategies.Besides,American spokespersons employ direct refusals much more frequently and more refusal strategies than Chinese spokespersons.
