摘要
工程教育改革是全面提升中国大学的创新人才培养能力、实现建设创新型社会目标的重要基础,交大密西根学院在上海交通大学和美国密西根大学的共同支持下,5年来,就工程教育改革的一系列深层次问题做了大量深入、系统的改革和探索,在国际化环境建设,面向创新能力培养的课程体系设计和面向综合素质提高的全人教育等方面都取得了很好的经验;学生培养质量获得了国际一流大学和社会的高度认同。学院的首批118名申请留学深造的学生中有111名被录取,且大多数被录取在美国前10名的大学。密西根学院的实践证明:明确的目标、志同道合的合作伙伴、双方信任的执行人加上适合引进人员快速成长的生态环境和制度建设是实施工程教育国际化改革的成功关键。
Engineering education reform is crucial to enhance the capability of innovative education of Chinese universities as well as to construct an innovation-oriented society in China.During the past five years,the University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute（JI） has gone through a series of deep and systematic exploration and reform from different aspects of engineering education.It has achieved great successes in terms of international collaborative environment construction,innovation-oriented curriculum design,and students＇ all-round development.The education quality of the JI has been widely recognized by world-class universities as well as societies.In its first batch of graduates,118 out of 160 applied for continuing post-graduate study abroad.111 of them were admitted and most of them were admitted by the top 10 US universities.The practice of the JI indicates that a clear objective,carefully selected partners,trusted executors,and the introduction of suitable environments and policies are all important to the success of engineering education reform.
