[Objective] The potential geographic distribution of the peach fruit fly, Bactrocera (Bactrocera) zonata (Saunders) was analyzed to provide the basis for working out its quarantine measures, so as to prevent its invasion and spreading , and to protect fruit production in Tibet. [Method] The potential geographic distribution of peach fruit fly in China, especially in Tibet, using CLIMEX and ArcGIS, was evaluated, based on the biological data of the peach fruit fly and meteorological data from 760 weather sites in China, 39 of which in Tibet. [Result] It indicated that the suitable areas of peach fruit fly covered 34 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, in which vast areas of Hainan, south of Guangdong and Fujian, Guangxi, Yunnan, Sichuan, south of Shanxi, Henan, north of Hubei and most areas of Taiwan were of high suitability. Three weather sites of Tibet were suitable to the growth of peach fruit fly, in which Chayu was the moderately suitable district. [Conclusion] There were many suitable areas, including the highly and the moderately suitable districts, of peach fruit fly in our country. And it is possible for the invasion and colonization of peach fruit fly in Tibet.
