The Teaching of Pinyin in Hong Kong and Frequency Analysis of Putonghua Syllables

摘要 香港回归之后,随着香港地区普通话教学和用普通话教中文的不断发展,汉语拼音教学成为学界的一个研究热点。大家都在关注拼音教学的成效,探讨加强拼音教学、提高教学效率的有效途径。针对香港地区汉语拼音教学的具体情况和实际需求,进行普通话音节使用情况统计与分析,其数据结果预期能够为完善拼音教学方法提供必要的依据和基础,有助于更好地发挥汉语拼音对香港地区普通话教学和用普通话教中文的促进作用。 With the development of putonghua teaching and the use of putonghua as a medium of instruction in Chinese language teaching in Hong Kong after 1997, the teaching of pinyin has thus become a key research topic. While many have expressed concerns about the effectiveness of pinyin teaching, this paper investigates the effective ways of improving pinyin teaching as to its efficiency. It focuses on the specific situation and the practical demand in teaching pinyin in Hong Kong through statistical analysis of the use of putonghua syllables in the region. The data are expected to provide the underlying foundation for the improvement of pinyin teaching and to play the facilitating role of pinyin in putonghua teaching and the use of putonghua as a medium of instruction in Chinese Language teaching in Hong Kong.
