摘要
随着网络规模不断扩大,提供的业务种类和复杂性不断增加,异构程度也越来越高,使得网络管理变得愈加复杂。原有集中式的网络管理系统(NMS)已不能适应,这已不再是通过简单地增加计算机的内存及处理能力,或采用更大型的数据库来容纳信息就可以了,必须将网络管理提高到逻辑层次上并采取分布式的解决方案。人们开始研究应用移动agent技术来解决网络管理遇到的问题。
The application of mobile agent technology to the complicated management of heterogeneous communication network is an effective way. This paper looks at the potential benefits from the application of mobile agent technology to communications systems and surveys recent developments. The first section provides a basic introduction to mobile agent technology. The second section considers general problems of network management and the reasons why mobile agents may provide a suitable solution. The third section reviews some selected case on mobile agents in network management.
