Objective To investigate the effect of the short-term high-dose Tongxinluo on serum levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6)and high-sensitive c-reactive protein(hs-CRP) in patients with unstable angina. Methods 71 patients of unstable angina were in our hospital from July 2008 to February 2010 who were randomly divided into two groups: control group(n=35) received conventional drug therapy of unstable angina in taking Tongxinluo capsule 2 pills, three times a day,and Tongxinluo group(n=36) on the basis of conventional drug therapy in taking Tongxinluo capsule 6 pills, three times a day for 8 days. The serum levels of TNF-α,IL-6,hs-CRP,liver and kidney function, blood coagulation function and lipids were measured before and after treatment. Results There were obvious differences between two groups on the serum levels of TNF-α,IL-6 and hs-CRP after treatment(P0.05).The improvement of TNF-α,IL-6 and hs-CRP in Tongxinluo group was superior to that in control group. There was no significant difference in liver and kidney function, blood coagulation function and lipids between two groups and before and after treatment(P 0.05).Conclusion The application of short-term high-dose Tongxinluo can inhibit effectively the producing of inflammatory factors, stabilize atherosclerotic plaque and may decrease the occurrence of heart incident in patients with unstable angina.
