Among all factors manipulating the literary translation, i.e. ideology, poetics and patronage defined by Andre Lefevere, ideology plays the decisive role in the translation and introduction of the foreign literatures. LU Xun's notion of "Take-in" once gave us a lot illumination in dealing with the foreign cultures. Explained by the western Manipulation Theory based on LU Xun's notion of "Take-in", the translation and introduction of the Soviet literature in China in the 1950-60s are studied. Why such a "Take-in" phenomenon occurred and how the ideology dominating in China during that period manipulated the literary translation is analyzed. It is pointed out that the booming of introduction and prevalence' of Soviet literature in China was caused mainly by the "Take-in" manipulated by the nation's political ideology.
