摘要
本研究比较了英语专业二年级学生在有无时间限制下的议论文写作多项句法复杂性指标。研究表明:时间的压力造成受试在限时作文中减少子句层级上修饰成分的使用、减少并列句的使用频率、更多依赖已经充分习得的从属子句;此外,受试的元认知知识及所处的句法复杂性发展阶段也可能影响其选择作文句法复杂性的实现手段。
This study compared several indexes of syntactic complexity of timed and untimed argumentations written by English-major sophomores.The results indicate that the time pressure caused the subjects in timed compositions to reduce the use of modifiers at the clause level and the the use of coordinate clauses,and to rely more on subordinate clauses they have well acquired.It is also found that the subjects' metacognitive knowledge and the stage of their syntactic complexity development may affect their selection of specific means of syntactic complexity.
