In the development of human being, the relation between man and nature experienced three stages. Knowledge played diferent roles in each stage. The understanding and acceptance of sustainable development by mankind inevitably led to the appearance of knowlege-based economy. Viewed at the angle of knowlege and intelectual resources, knowledge-economy created new ways of reasonably using natural resources and of establishing harmonic relation between human and nature.
