For the first time in this paper the forests of Betula platyphylla in Daxing’an Mountains are Subdivided by phytosociological methods. Three community types of B. platyphylla forest have been differentiated, e.g., Rhododendron dahuricum-Betula platyphylla Corylus, Corylus heterophylla-Betula platyphylla community and Arternisia stolonifera-Betula platyphylla community.
