Measurement of EuI_(2)-KI System Phase Diagram

摘要 By using the differential thermal analysis and X ray diffraction, the phase diagram of the EuI 2 KI binary system at the pressure of 3×10 -4 Pa was measured. The phase diagram shows the existence of one congruently melting compound, KEu 2I 5, and one incongruently melting compound, K 4EuI 6, and the two eutectic points are located at 737 K, 20% KI and 713 K, 60% KI, respectively. The crystal parameters of KEu 2I 5 from X ray analysis are in good agreement with ones from literature. The deviation for the phase diagram measurements is briefly discussed and the melting enthalpy of EuI 2 is 21012 J·mol -1 from the phase diagrams.
