摘要
This paper describes a one-term experiment con-ducted in the author’s English major class from Sept.1999 to Dec.1999.The project is intended to encour-age students’autonomy,and to train students how toacquire various skills in language learning and com-munication.The project provided students withenough space to exert their autonomy and attained itsdesired goals.The beneficial effects show in three as-pects:The centre of teaching and learning shifts fromthe teacher to the students;given autonomous learn-ing environment,students can learn more effectively;and students can acquire all round abilities.
