The article reviews the major technical advances of solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR) along with an introduction to the properties of SSBR produced with a new tin-lithium initiator, including the outstanding rolling resistance and a superior resistance to wear with no sacrifice in wet traction. The demands and the development trend of SSBR were summarized in the world, mainly in the U. S. A.,European and Japan.
