Residuum are widely developed during the Tertiary peneplanation period in the north of Heilongjiang Province. The paper points out that the gold containing residuum is the most important mineral sources of the gold placer in this area. Fine gold was secondarily enlarged at some physical chemicalc environment, and then carried, precipitated and concentrated by mechanical weathering, and formed the gold placer deposits at the end. In addition, primary gold deposits and gold placer which developed in the same area may not have any relationship between them
