摘要
模糊是一种在日常生活中很常见的现象。在商务英语中,模糊语言的使用可以达到国际贸易双方特殊的交际目的,同时使得语言使用具体、灵活和礼貌。该文试图从语用学的角度,在具体实例的基础上分析和研究商务英语文书语言的语用模糊,从而说明模糊语言恰到好处的使用能促进商务交流。
Vagueness is a common phenomenon in daily life.The adoption of vague language in business English may fulfill the specific purpose of both parties in international trade and at the same time enhance the concreteness,flexibility and politeness of business English language.This article tries to analyze how hedges are embodied in business English letters from the pragmatic perspective on the bases of abundant practical corpus.It holds that the proper adoption of vague language in Business English letters may be effective to the business communication.
