Objective: To evaluate the general anxiety disorder(GAD) in coronary heart disease(CHD) patients,in addition to cardiac biomarkers such as high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),troponin T(TnT),and brain natriuretic peptide(BNP).Method: The study included 60 CHD patients with GAD in observing group and 60 CHD patients without psychiatric disorder in control group. All cases were given cardiac biomarkers tests such as hs-CRP,TnT and BNP.Result: There were no significant difference between two groups on TnT and BNP level(P0.05).hs-CRP levels in observing group were much higher than those in control group.Regression analyses showed an association between GAD and hs-CRP levels. Conclusion: Significant associations between anxiety and CHD risk, with a potential biologic link between anxiety and elevations in hs-CRP level enhances the approach of multidisciplinary care of CHD patients, including screening and treatment of heightened anxiety disorders.
