摘要
参照英语本族语者语料库,运用高、低分作文语料库研究不同水平的英语专业学生在议论文中can的使用特点。结果表明:与高分作文相比,低分作文中can在数量上存在过多使用,而高分学生更接近英语本族语者。在can-附码序列的使用上与本族语者相比,高、低分学生均存在很大差异;但高、低分学生作文存在很多相似之处,如过多使用人称代词做主语的序列,过多使用义务情态序列。总体上高分学生更具使用认识情态序列的意识,can-附码序列类型更丰富。
Based mainly on the use of can in native speakers' corpus, this study investigates the argumentative writings by Chinese English-majors in high-and low-score TEM-8 Writings. Corn high-level learners the low-level learners are found to overuse can, but both high-and low-level lot of can-tag sequences in which can is preceded by personal pronouns and both of them ten deontic modal sequences than epistemic ones. In general, high-level learners exceed low-level learners in the use of can-tag sequences, and the can-tag sequences are more varied in high-level learner's corpus.
