摘要
传统语法、悉尼语法、加的夫语法框架内的句法分析方式各不相同。本文从三者对同一类语言现象的解释谈起,来探讨它们的句法描述思想。讨论表明:三者的句法描述观存在差异。传统语法注重语言的形式;悉尼语法一方面强调语言的功能,一方面关注语言的形式;加的夫语法则以语言的功能为中心。
Syntactic description varies with theoretical schools.This paper begins with analyses of the same language phenomenon within the traditional grammar,the Sydney Grammar and the Cardiff Grammar,and then explores their guiding principles concerning syntactic description.The exploration indicates that the traditional grammar is mainly focused on the form of language,that the Sydney Grammar places emphasis on the function of language in one sense and pays more attention to the form of language in another sense,and that the Cardiff Grammar is more meaning-oriented.
