摘要
通过对上海天文台佘山观测基地1997年3月至5月初期间所得到的Hale-Bopp彗 星喷流观测资料的处理和分析,发现该彗星的喷流结构有周期性变化,其周期为8—9 天,这种周期变化可能与彗星的自转轴在空间的进动周期有关.
From March to early May 1997, much observational data of comet Hale-Bopp were obtained at Sheshan station, Shanghai Observatory. The CCD image data are processed with the IRAF software and wavelet analysis. From the morphology of the spiral jet, it is found that there is a periodic variation in the structure of the jet, with a period of about 8-9 days. The relation between this period and the period of the precession of comet Hale-Bopp is discussed in this paper.
