摘要
为了明确高考英语考试(NMET)与大学英语四级考试(CET4)之间是否有合适的难易差异,从命题依据、题型、听力、阅读、完形填空、写作和翻译等方面进行对比分析,发现两者在许多方面缺少合适的难易跨度。指出这种跨度的欠缺是由于1)高考难度不断提升而四级考试难度相对稳定;2)四级考试所依据的教学要求在四级低通过率的制约下定得过低。提出解决问题的根本办法是解除四级考试和教学要求的相互依赖关系。
A comparative analysis was made to find out if there is an adequate difference in difficulty between NMET and CET4. Comparisons of the bases on which the tests were developed, the formats as well as each part of the test pa- pers reveal a lack of appropriate difference between the two in terms of text and item diffieuhy, which can be attributed to the relative stability of the difficulty level of CET4 throughout the years of its practice against the constant raise of the dif- fieuhy level of NMET, and the low criteria of college English curriculum requirements which was limited by the low GET4 passing rate and upon which CET4 was based. The proposed solution is to end the interdependent relationship between CET4 and the curriculum requirements.
