摘要
康托尔创立集合论,推进了数学家对于"无穷"的认识,但是却引出了被称为集合论悖论的第三次数学危机,这次危机导致了人们对于数学基础的深入研究。逻辑主义学派不仅致力解决集合论悖论,还决心将数学的基础建立在逻辑之上。该学派的工作虽然极大地促进了数学基础的研究和数理逻辑的发展,但是,将数学建立在逻辑上的目的却没有取得最终的成功。
Cantor founding set theory not only advanced mathematics on "infinitude" , but led to the known paradox of set theory and the third mathematical crisis. The crisis drove people to research the mathematical basis thoroughly. Logicist want to solve the paradox of set theory and base mathematics on logic. Logicist' s work greatly promoted the research of the mathematical basis and the development of mathematical logic. However, they can' t finish the task of building mathematics on the logic.
