摘要
上世纪初以来,以库马拉斯瓦米为首的部分学者认为,秣菟罗佛像型制源于土著那迦造像。尽管这种观点得到了尊重,但秣菟罗佛像本土起源的问题并未得到充分的关注,甚至处于停滞不前的状态。本文对秣菟罗佛像的主要特点之一——圆弧纹头光样式的考察,得出秣菟罗佛像与那迦造像型制渊源的新证据,也为佛像的头光表现找到了最初之型制来源。
Until last century,Coomaraswamy,the authority on Indian art,proposed a point of view,that Buddha icon originated from Nāga.However,Mathura Buddha image was created indigenously still be neglected.Since Mathura Buddha’s most evident characteristic is Buddha’s Nimbus,which is adored with semicircle brim.Therefore,a study on the nimbus’origin in Mathura is very important,and the text recorded Nāga sheltered Buddha probably means to explain why Buddha decorated with snake hood.This conclusion also tells the origin of Buddha’s halo.
