Double input sharing is introduced into the switch fabric of grouping 15×15 crossbar with fan out of five. The satisfactory performance can be obtained with low hardware costs. The theoretical analysis and simulation both show that the cell loss probability can reach level of 10 -7 under the condition of uniform traffic with arrival rate of 0.9. The switch control system consists of the path hunt processing unit (PHPU) and the input expand controller (IEC). To meet the need of speed, the addressing quests. The IEC distributes the fan out link for the shared input. The switch path is established. Considering the high complexity of the system, an EPLD based circuit is designed to realize the switch system.
