介绍了带有时变增益控制功能的超宽带探地雷达接收机设计与研发技术。时变增益控制是雷达信号处理中增益控制的一种常用方式,适用于多种雷达系统。设计的时变增益控制电路是根据回波时间调整接收机灵敏度,增加了接收机的动态范围,并且抑制了接收机过饱和的产生,从而达到保护接收机的目的。时变增益控制电路是基于压控衰减器设计研发的,具有高灵敏度,大动态范围和高控制精度等优点,提高了探地雷达系统的性能。设计的接收机成功地应用在实际的探地雷达测试项目之中。
This paper mainly focuses on the technique of timing gain control for GPR radar receivers using voltage control attenuators (VCA). Timing gain control (TVG) is one of the gain control methods for radar signal processing, which suits many kinds of radar. Gain control is used to adjust the sensitivity of the receiver by regulating the intensity of the returns. TVG increases the dynamic range of the receiver and prevents the saturation of the receiver. TVG is achieved by applying an attenuation that varies with the range. The attenuation applied to the echo signal is constant up to a certain range and then varies exponentially depending upon the clutter environment. This technique has the advantages of sensitive control performance, a large dynamic range and a high accuracy. It has improved the overall performance of low frequency GPR.
