摘要
从SRTM 3与ASTER GDEM的版本演化、质量评价、插补方法和数据应用现状等方面系统介绍了两种重要地形数据源。SRTM 3从2003年6月公开发布至今共4个重要版本,ASTER GDEM自2009年6月公开发布至今共两个重要版本;考虑数据源和数据处理技术,并辅以等高线分析、地形属性可视化、地形属性频率直方图分析等技术,认为SRTM 3和ASTER GDEM数据质量较高,在许多领域的应用中SRTM 3优于1∶25万地形图、ASTERGDEM则堪比1∶5万地形图数据。目前,SRTM 3与ASTER GDEM数据空洞及异常区域插补方法可以相互借鉴,其方法主要有两种:一是利用空缺区域周围数据直接插值;二是借助辅助数据填补空缺区域,并对接边处平滑处理。SRTM 3与ASTER GDEM目前已成功应用于水文学、工程开发、地质与灾害评估等诸多领域,提出了对两种数据进一步研究的工作展望。
SRTM 3 and ASTER GDEM are the most complete, most reliable global digital elevation model data. Both of them will serve users and researchers from a wide array of disciplines that need elevation and terrain information without charge. This paper analyses the two important topographic data from change of editions, quality evaluation, interpolation method and applica- tion status and so on. SRTM 3 has a total of four major versions from first released in June 2003,ASTER GDEM has a total of two major versions from first released in September 2009. Taking into account the data sources and data processing technology, contour analysis, terrain attribute visualization, terrain attribute frequency histograms and so on, some scholars hereby suggest that SRTM 3 and ASTER GDEM are important topographic data with high data quality, SRTM 3 is better than 1 : 250 000 topographic maps and ASTER GDEM is equal to 1 : 50 000 topographic maps in many application areas. There are few researches on both SRTM 3 and ASTER GDEM's interpolation method for void holes and data anomaly areas at present. However the interpolation method of the two topographic data can learn from each other, these interpolation methods can be divided into two kinds of approaches, one is take advantage of the data surrounding the hole, the other one is use other resolution DEM as an auxiliary for large voids. As two global high-resolution DEM, SRTM 3 and ASTER GDEM are great significance to earth science research, the two topographic data has been successfully applied in many fields such as hydrology, engineering development, geology and disaster evaluation and so on. Finally, this paper puts forward the outlook for future further research of SRTM 3 and ASTER GDEM. SRTM using interferometric radar to extract elevation information, ASTER using stereo images to extract elevation information, researchers should make deeper research to produce more accurate and complete global topographic map.
