摘要
在跨文化的中国形象研究中,从中国的自我想象入手来反思形象背后的文化问题是核心课题。中国的自我想象,无论是乌托邦式的想象还是意识形态式的想象,都与西方的中国形象存在差异。中西方的中国形象之间不是对应关系,而是错位关系。导致这种错位与重塑的原因在于中国为回应西方的挑战而建构的现代性叙事中存在着内在的矛盾。中国现代性叙事纠缠于中国文化传统与西方现代性之间的冲突,这种植根于中西二元对立的矛盾,在跨文化的全球叙事中有可能被化解。
Reflection on the cultural problem behind the self-image of China is the central task in trans-cultural studies The self-image of China, either utopian or ideological is different from the image of China in the west. The self-image of China and the image of China in the west are not corresponding but confusing. The reason of this confusion is the contradic- tion between the modernity narrative in the west and in China which is constructed in order to respond to the challenge of the west. The modernity narrative of China is entwined in the conflict between Chinese cultural tradition and western moder- nity. The problem that derived from the binary-opposition of the west and China may be resolved in the trans-cultural global narrative.
