In order to search for the resource plants containing ecdysterone, we studied 19 species and varieties of Osmundaceae, Onoclcaceae, Dryopteridaceae, Amaranthaceae and Liliaceae. TLC scanning method was used to determine ecdystronc. Samples were chromatographed on silica gel GF_(254) plate with chloroform -95% ethanol (4:1), and determined at λs=243 nm. The results of analysis showed that the contents of ecdysterone in five species were higher than 0.030%: Paris axialis (0.131%), Paris dunniana (0.057%), Paris fargesii (0.055%), Achyranthes bidentata (0.037) and Paris vietnamensis (0.034%).
