Enterprise Technological Scope Choice:Technological Diversification or Technological Specialization

摘要近年来,技术多元化受到了越来越多学者的关注,但仅有少数研究探索了技术范围选择的影响因素。在回顾相关文献的基础上,分析了影响技术范围选择的因素,并提出了概念模型。采用中国高技术上市公司2004—2010年面板数据,建立多元线性回归分析模型,从企业外部环境、运营状况以及组织备用资源的角度实证分析技术范围选择与影响因素的关系。结果表明,企业环境与组织备用资源显著地影响了技术范围选择,而企业运营状况因素中仅部分指标对其产生影响。技术范围选择由多种因素决定,实证结果提供了综合的指导,为企业选择"适合"的技术范围获得更多利润提供了依据。 Although the topic of technological diversification has been a major source of research in recent years, only a few studies have explored the influence factors of technological scope choice. After reviewing the related literatures, the paper analyzes the influence factors of technological scope and puts forward a conceptual model. By taking china high-tech listed companied from 2004-2010 panel data as an example and establishing multiple linear regression analysis model, the paper empirically tested the conceptual model from the perspective of the firm＇s environment, operation and resources. The results show that the firm＇s environment and resources influences the technological scope choice significantly, while the firm＇s operation is supported partially. It is obvious that tech- nological scope is contingent on multiple factors. This study provides an integrative guideline for manager, and they should find a ＇conforming＇ technological scope to generate more profits.
