:英语中的颜色词丰富多彩 ,且与社会文化思想有着密切联系 ,具有浓厚的文化内涵。由于英汉两民族在文化上的差异较大 ,英汉颜色词语所表达的文化内涵也不尽相同。正确理解和掌握英语颜色词的文化内涵及英汉颜色词语的非完全对应关系 。
There are abundant words of color in English and these words are closely related to society.culture and ideology,thus have cultural connotative meanings.Due to the cultural differences between the English and the Chinese people,the color words of the two languages contain different cultural connotations.Correct understanding and grasp of English words of color and the incomplete equivalence of English and Chinese color words is of practical help to the teaching of English vocabulary and translation.
