A series of corrosion measurements and tests had been carried out to investigate the corrosion behavior of materials, such as carbon steels and cement material, in Tarim region in Xinjiang Province of China The influence of 24 factors on soil corrosivity was also analyzed to find the key parameters Using key parameters, the soil steel corrosion models were created by means of principal component analysis (PCA) The models were successfully applied in following areas:the area along the Lun Ku pipeline, the north and south parts of Tarim region The reliability of these models was as high as more than 85%
