In 2009, to coordinate with the constructions of the Nonghuacun Neighborhood and No. 8 Ningnan Road, Nanjing Municipal Museum conducted archaeological surveys and excavations in these two sites, from which the well-preserved two tombs M19 and M20 were recovered. M19 was an 8-shaped brick doublechamber tomb with dome-shaped ceilings consisting of the passageway and the tomb chambers. The grave goods unearthed from this tomb were celadon bowls, jars and flasks, pottery pigpen, three-legged bowl, grindstones, three-legged stove, vessel lids, ovens and jars with embossed designs, etc., iron axes and knives and bronze wuzhu coins. M20 was a rectangular brick single-chamber tomb with corbel domeshaped ceiling, the grave goods unearthed from which were porcelain bowls, pottery jars, iron knives and bronze banliang and wuzhu coins. The inscription on the bricks in M19 showed that its date was the late period of the Wu Kingdom in the ThreeKingdoms Period; the characteristics of the grave goods of M20 showed that its date was also late period of the Wu Kingdom in the Three-Kingdoms Period.
