By using asexual hydroponic seedlings of Casuarina equisetifolia, the experiment on the water stress was carried out under a controllable condition.The result showed that,the performance of water stress of C.equisetifolia, which reflected in its physiological and biochemical characters,was the decline of SOD and CAT amounts,the enhancement of MDA and O - 2.The variation of SOD and MDA amounts variated with the different asexual lines.Content of MDA and SOD activity of C.equisetiflia may serve as the physiological and biochemical refference indexes to evaluate the drought resistant capacity in its seedling stage.
