摘要
本文采用2006年中国城乡老年人口状况追踪调查数据分析照顾孙子女的老年人状况和影响因素。研究发现,低龄、身体健康、受过良好教育、经济条件居中的老年人照顾孙子女的比例更大,农村老年人照顾孙子女的劳动强度更大。子女经济状况越困难老年人反而越可能帮助照顾孙子女,子女在经济上是否为父母提供支持对老年人照顾孙辈的行为没有显著影响,因而老年人照顾孙子女更多的是一种无私的付出,是一种家庭中利他主义的体现。
Based on the Longitudinal Survey Data on the Situation of Urban and Rural Elderly of China in 2006, this paper finds that the older groups with younger age, better physical health, higher educational attainments, middle-level economic income are more likely to help to care their grandchildren. Compared to the older people in urban areas, those living in rural areas face much heavier burden of grandchildren caring. Older people are more likely to help their adult children with lower income to care their children. The behavior is not influenced by the economic support of adult children to them or not. The empirical results show that grandchildren caring could be understood as an unselfish contribution to family members and an altruism behavior in family.
