摘要
中国当代文学"走出去"的过程中,主要西方国家的读者对译文的选择与接受和中国政府"走出去"的战略目标之间始终存在尖锐矛盾:西方国家的读者青睐的中国当代文学作品中经常存在有损中国形象这一问题,而中国政府依据自己的意图译介出去的作品在西方却又时时遭受冷遇。解决这一矛盾,直接影响着中国当代文学"走出去"的效果。霍米·巴巴的"混杂"和"第三空间"理论给我们指出了一条超越"非此即彼"的第三条道路,即在两者之间寻求动态平衡,以争取西方世界的积极配合,加快中国当代文学"走出去"的步伐。
As Chinese contemporary literature seeks to expand its readership in western countries,it often encounters this scenario: western readers prefer European-language translations of works that contain elements or accounts that are damaging to China’s international image to works that the Chinese government is eager to see introduced to a western readership.This conflict jeopardizes China’s aim of promoting Chinese culture through exporting its contemporary literature.Homi Bhabha’s concepts of "hybridity" and "third space" may provide us a perspective that can help transcend a simple binary dichotomy of "we vs.them",a third road whereby a dynamic equilibrium can be restored between the two extremes and western cooperation can be secured.
