Objective: To revise the Emotion Eating Scale for Chinese Adolescents (EES-CA). Methods: Part items of test version EES-CA were from original items' translation and the rest from Chinese negative emotion list. 601 middle school students in all were recruited to complete the test version. After several times of item and exploratory factor analy- sis, the formal scale-EES-CA was got. 938 middle school students were tested with formal version for further confirmatory factor analysis, and also for the reliability and validity of EES-CA. Results: The formal version of EES-CA included 18 negative emotion adjective items; Exploratory factor analysis generated three factors reflected adolescents' eating re- spond to depression, angry and anxiety, which accounted for 50.651 of the variance in all; The three factor structure model was fitted well through confirmatory factor analysis, and also proved good structure stability through groups confir- matory factor analysis; (~)The Cronbach's c~ coefficient of EES-CA was 0.901, the three subscale were also have good in- ternal coefficient which were 0.831,0.787 and 0.799 respectively. The test-retest reliability for EES-CA with its subscale after two weeks later were 0.787, 0.776,0.745 and 0.773 respectively, and its convergent validity with bulimia was also good for psychometric properties. Conclusion: The three factors contracture model of the EES-CA is stable for different groups, and the EES-CA is a reliable and valid measurement which can be widely used in adolescent.
