摘要
宇文泰成为贺拔军首领,仅是为其称霸关陇积累了一定的军事实力。真正使其迅速成为关陇的最高统治者的原因,主要是北魏孝武帝利用他东出与高欢决战的政治需要和宇文泰所打出"匡辅魏室"的政治旗号。孝武帝西入关中,使偏据关陇一隅的宇文泰取得了继承北魏正统性的政治优势,却使军事上处于绝对优势的高欢陷入到"篡权逐君"的政治困境之中。虽为维护自身权力,宇文泰秘密除掉了孝武帝,但出于纠合各方力量,称霸关陇与高欢对峙的考虑,仍要长期奉行尊崇魏室的策略。而这则是全面认识陈寅恪先生所提"关陇集团"理论的一个前提。
