Objective To further verify the epidemic situation and look for the risk factors of hand-foot-and mouth disease,so as to take prevention and control measures. Methods The descriptive epidemiological method was adopted to analyze the time distribution. The etiological hypothesis was initially proposed, and the hypothesis was tested by conducting case-control study. Results Contacting with patients a week prior to the onset was a risk factor(P 0.05).Some cases had a clear phenomenon of family gathering or playmates aggregation history.Contacting with patients in community rather than patients in nursery was the main mode of transmission. There was a lack of control measures in the village. Conclusions The main transmission mode of this outbreak was by contacting with patients in the community, rather than in kindergarten. The main reason for the spread of disease was that patients who were in separation period contacted with other children.
