OBJECTIVE To analyze the related factors of nosocomial infections in craniocerebral operation, and provide reference evidence for its prevention and treatment. METHODS A total of 233 patients with craniocerebral disease treated with operation were chosen as the study objects, the clinical data were and analyzed the relative factors of postoperative nosocomical infections were summarized. RESULTS Of 233 patients under the craniocerebral operation, nosoeomial infections occurred in 27 patients with the infection rate of 11. 59~. The most common site of infections was lower respiratory tract in 16 cases accounting for 59.26~, followed by the surgical incision infections (3 cases)of 11. 11~. Patients who were under 14 years of age or age more than 60 years old, with intracerebral hemorrhage, longer hospitalization days were more prone to postoperative nosocomial infections (P^0.05). The incidence of nosocomial infections was significantly higher in the patients undergoing invasive diagnostic or therapeutic measures, than that in those without the corresponding measures the differences were statistically significant (P~ 0. 05). CONCLUSION Patient's age, hospitalization duration and invasive diagnostic or therapeutic measures are the related factors for nosocomial infections. Improving the resistance of patients, reducing the length of hospital stay and the invasive treatment procedures, and regulating the daily medical behaviormay contribute to the reduction postoperative nosocomial infections.
