摘要 根据双重编码理论,大脑中以字符为基本单位的语言系统,如果与以心像为基本单位的非语言系统同时工作,会极大地促进语言记忆,加强语言学习的效果。基于以上理论,结合教学实践,本文试图探究大学英语词汇的形象化记忆模式,并提出了一些使单词与一定的心像相联系的具体办法,使其在头脑里的信息形象化,提高单词记忆的效率。 According to the Dual-Coding Theory ,memory can be greatly enhanced if linguistic system based on character and non-linguistic system based on mental image work simultaneously. This makes in sense that the effective cooperation of the two systems in human brains will lead to the improvement in efficiency of vocabulary teaching. This paper introduces the Dual - Coding Theory briefly and explores its application of vocabulary teaching in College English.Some vocabulary memorizing modes and methods are also provided to visualize words in minds in English teaching.
