摘要
以拒绝请求言语策略选择为例,通过语篇补全测试考查了两组不同语言水平受试的语用能力发展情况,并与一组外籍教师的作答进行比较。结果表明,两组中国英语学习者的语用能力并未随其语言水平的提高而提高。两组受试在拒绝策略使用基本相同且作答时会受到自身相对社会地位高低的影响,与外籍教师组的作答均有一定差距。研究发现中国英语学习者的语言课程设置会对其语用能力的发展造成影响。
A discourse completion test was carried out to investigate the development of pragmatic competence of EFL learners with different language proficiency. EFL learners adopted similar strategies when refusing and were influenced by their social sta- tus when refusing a request. When they were compared with a group of foreign language teachers, it is concluded that the prag- matic competence is not developed as their language proficiency increases. It is discovered that the pragmatic competence is in- fluenced by the curriculum design in China.
