The velocity fields in the panel zone and horizontal gas pass were carefully measured in an isothermal model with a 600MW tangentially fired boiler. The influence of the panel and rear panel superheaters on velocity distribution in the horizontal gas pass was researched. Three improving measures were provided and some experiments were done for decresing the coefficient of velocity deviation in the horizontal gas pass. The results of experiments showed that three improving measures were effective. Figs 6, tables 2 and refs 2.
