Toxoplasma gondii is widely distributed opportunistic pathogen that can infect all warm-blooded animals, including human and cause zoonotic toxoplasmosis, seriously threating human health and livestock production. At present, cerebral toxoplasmosis gets more and more attention. The article focused on the in- teraction of Toxoplasma gondii and the central nervous system (CNS) after Toxoplasma gondii entering the central nervous system, in the entire process, from acute phase of infection to chronic phase and related neurological symptoms caused by their interaction. It will provide a valuable reference for fully understand- ing host-pathogen relationship. In future research, the mechanism of interaction of Toxoplasma gondii and the central nervous system will be further disclosed.
