摘要
20世纪初期,现代私人基金会以规模性、专业性、组织性而著称,通过对高等学校提供财力支持和研究导向,促进了美国高校尤其是研究型大学的发展。私人基金会作为一种独特的社会中介力量和非营利性部门,利用其独立于政府与市场之外的自由角色,秉着"志愿、慈善、公益"的精神,对美国高校有一系列的捐赠,在一定程度上保护了美国高校的学术自由与学术自治。基金会作为一种慈善机构,在美国高等教育发展的进程中具有重要的意义。以卡耐基基金会为切入点,分析了美国的基金会对研究型大学的重要推动作用及其对中国的启示。
In the early 20th century, the modem private foundations to scale, professional, organized and celebrated, by providing financial support for universities and research-oriented, promoting the development of research universities, especially American universities. Private foundations as a unique social forces and non-profit sector intermediaries, using its independence from the government and the free market, the role of faith ＂voluntary, charitable, public service,＂ the spirit of American colleges and universities have a series of donations, in a certain extent, protect the academic freedom and academic autonomy in American Universities. Foundation as a charitable organization, has an important significance in the process of development of higher education in the United States. Carnegie Foundation as a starting point to analyze the American Foundation for the important role in promoting research universities and its enlightenment to China.
