Edge-Detection Algorithm Based on Visual Saliency

摘要 提出了一种基于视觉显著性的边缘检测算法.面向红外场景图像需求,所提算法首先使用Canny进行边缘检测,然后融合3种基本边缘特征:边缘两侧对比度、边缘密度和边缘长度,提取出红外图像中视觉显著性边缘.所提算法有效地抑制了背景和纹理虚假边缘,突出了目标边缘信息,为自动目标识别系统提供质量较好的边缘图像.实验结果证实了本文算法的有效性. An edge-detection algorithm based on visual saliency is proposed. First, for an infrared-scene image, the proposed algorithm detects the edges using a Canny edge detector. Then, three basic: edge features are inte- grated, including the edge contrast, edge density, and edge length. Finally, the visual salient edges are ex- tracted from the infrared image. The proposed algorithm effectively suppresses false edges from the background and texture, highlights the information of the target edges, and provides good-quality edge images for automat- ic target recognition system. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.
