Facing the Challenge and Flipping Ourselves—Opportunities and Challenges Faced by Foreign Language Teachers under the New Paradigm of Education

摘要 本文借用翻转课堂的"翻转"概念,来探讨当前MOOCs和翻转课堂语境下大学外语教师面临的机遇和挑战,主要是改变教学理念,提高外语教育技术素养,提升新范式下进行外语教学、课程设计和教学管理的能力,把自己从前台转到幕后、从主讲变为助学。面对新技术时代,重塑传统的教师形象和地位。 Using the concept of the Flipped Classroom, this article discusses the opportunities and challenges faced by foreign language teachers in the context of MOOCs. The teachers are supposed to accept as follows: first of all, to make a change in teaching philosophy; secondly, to improve the technology literacy of foreign language education; thirdly, to better the ability of teaching, curriculum design and management as well under the new paradigm of foreign language teaching. In brief, a foreign language teacher should make the best use of the opportunities to make a turn from standing in the front to hiding in the rear, from a speaker to a student. Only boldly facing the new age of technology can they be possible to reshape the image and status of traditional teachers.
