摘要
从系统功能语言学的"变异"概念入手探讨《论语》英译的研究,目前国内外都不多见。本文从变异的角度通过对比分析对《论语》英译进行探讨。文章首先对语域和语篇体裁的基本概念进行勾画,重点讨论语言的"变异"与翻译的"变译"问题,并结合《论语》英译实例进行分析。分析认为,译文变异存在三种情况:文本的语域变异、文本的语篇结构变异、文本的语言变异。
From the literature to date there is little study on the translation of Lun Yu（the Analects） from the perspective of variation within the framework of Systemic Functional Linguistics. This paper examines,in terms of variation,the English translations of Lun Yu,by way of contrastive analyses of different translated texts. The paper begins with a brief description of the concepts of ＂register＂and＂genre＂,but the focus is on issues concerning variation in language use and variation in translation,in relation to the analysis of translated examples of Lun Yu. The study has revealed that there are three types of variation in the translation of Lun Yu：variation in register,variation in textual structure,and variation in language choice.
