摘要
公司的治理行为有效地映射了TMT(即高管团队)成员的价值理念。以沪市上市银行为研究对象,分析了TMT的学历、年龄和任期等背景特征对银行风险承担的作用机理。研究结果表明,不同的TMT背景特征对银行风险承担具有不同作用路径。具体表现为,银行风险承担与TMT学历程度间呈正相关性;与TMT年龄间存在显著的倒U型关系,并存在关系"分水岭",即到54岁的时候,与TMT任期间存在U型关系,但不显著。结论丰富了银行领域"高层梯队理论"研究的证据,也为中国商业银行的人才储备和选拔工作提供了指南。
The company's governance practices effectively map the values of TMT (Top Manager Team) members. The paper takes Chinese listed banks in SHSE as research samples, having examined the effect of TMT's background characteristics, such as education, age and tenure, on bank s risk taking. The result shows that TMT's background characteritics have significant impacts on bank's risk taking, and each characteristic presents different functional routes. Specifically, the risk taking has a positive correlation with TMT's educational background, an inverted U-shaped relationship and a "watershed" of relationship with TMT's age of 54, and a U-shaped relationship with TMT's tenure which is not obvious. The conclusions enrich the evidences of the "Top Echelon Theory" in banking sector, and provide a guidance for the talent pool and talent screening of Chinese commercial banks.
