摘要
评述了鹅掌楸属 2种植物在历史演化和生殖生物学、资源保护、引种及其杂交育种等领域的研究现状和存在的问题。
Liriodendron are archaic plants widely distributed in the North Hemisphere in the Tertiary period. Only two species were left under the pressure of glacier movement in the Quaternary period. One is L. tulipifera , distributed in the east of USA and southeast of Canada. The other is L. chinense , scattered in south mountain areas of Yangze River. L. chinense has been falling into “endangered specie”, its natural setting percentage was lower than 15 percent with a lot of reproductive ecological and embryological reasons. To protect, study and utilization their germplasm resources is very important. And after the success on the hybrid of the two species in 1963. The heterosis was found on vigorous growth, nice flower, beautiful tree form, strong adaptive faculty, no diseases and insects. The hybrid has become one of the most important tree species for ornamental and industrial use, and its needs are larger than offering in the market in recent years. To study Liriodendron has been become a focus since 1990s. The current advances was reviewed on evolution, germplasm protection, reproductive biology, introduction and hybrid breeding was reviewed, and breeding strategies were also discussed. To satisfy the comercial uses and exploit the potentiality of the two species and their hybrid further, cross within specie should be done, more parents should bee selected, mating systems should be study, fast propagation system should be set up, the demonstration plots and propagation places should be established in southeast, southwest, north and central section of China.
