The newly released Windows 2000, which integrates the merits of Win NT and Win 98, has become an ideal platform for modern computer test and measurement system. This article introduced the guidelines for designing plug & play device driver under Windows 2000, including the way P&P system works, structure of a P&P driver and important hints on writing the driver.
