In this paper, diacetone alcohol was prepared by aldol condensation of acetone on catalysts of strong basic anion exchange resins. The experiment was carried out in a cycling distillation column type reactor. The empirical reaction was abstained, and the activation energy of reaction E is 5 1363 kJ/mol. The catalytic internal structure was further studied by SEM, IR and XPS. The reaction mechanism was provided. The results showed that the high frequency oscillations were necessary for enhancing the catalyst activity. The residual Cl - in catalyst was an important cause for the decrease of catalytic activity. Macropore type ion exchange resins were better than microgel ones.
